Ratigan: *sings* Look how we get along together
I think it's great the way we blend!
You tried to be as tough as leather
But now I see that's just pretend.
We'll find our way through stormy weather
Just you and me right through the end!
Hey buddy! Looks like we're two birds of a feather!
And gee, it looks like, I got me a friend!
Now you go! Take it, Basil!
Basil: *doesn't join in*
Ratigan: *speaks* Hey Basil! What do you call a flower before it opens?
Basil: *raises an eyebrow* What?
Ratigan: What do you call a flower before it opens?
Basil: ...A bud.
Ratigan: *grins widely* I LOVE it when you call me "bud!"
Basil: *groans at the bad joke*
*As they sing, Ratigan is constantly annoying Basil by giving him noogies, linking arms with him, etc., while Basil is being a grump and trying to avoid him*
Ratigan: *sings* Look how we get along together
Basil: *sings* You are incredibly annoying!
Ratigan: I think it's great the way we blend!
Basil: You're like a bone stuck in my throat.
Ratigan: You tried to be as tough as leather
Basil: This isn't something I'm enjoying.
Ratigan: But now I see that's just pretend.
Basil: I should have left you on that clock!
Ratigan: We'll find our way through stormy weather
Basil: You want a friend go find your cat!
Ratigan: Just you and me right through the end!
Basil: Or better yet, a killer trap!
Ratigan: Hey buddy! Looks like we're two birds of a feather!
Basil: Don't call me buddy!
Ratigan: And gee, it looks like, I got me a friend!
Basil: Uh-uh! Not me!
Ratigan: Now you try! Take it, Basil!
Ratigan: *speaks* Hey Basil! I got you some crumpets. Where should I put it?
Basil: What??
Ratigan: I got you some cheese crumpets! Where should I put it?
Basil: *sticks his hand out, pointing* Put it there.
Ratigan: *grins* Put it there!? *shakes his hand enthusiastically* Alright!! *laughs*
Basil: *groans at bad joke, yanking his hand away* Oh stop it!
Basil: *sings* When you're a rebel, you're a rebel
Ratigan: *sings* You like me, just admit it.
Basil: You don't go finding friends to like
Ratigan: Alright! I'm gonna hold my breath! *does so*
Basil: Why don't you pack your blasted bell
Ratigan: *squeaks* Quit it! Admit it!
Basil: And take yourself a healthy hike!
Ratigan: You know you're gonna cause my DEATH! *grabs his own throat*
Basil: They don't have rodents down in Juno
Ratigan: *turning blue* It's getting dark...
Basil: Why don't you go and start a trend?
Ratigan: *dramatically* G-g-goodbye, Basil! *falls over in a faint*
Basil: *rolls his eyes* Oh, knock it off! *sees Ratigan not moving* Hey. Hey hey! You're all blue! *slaps his face, a bit worried* Breathe, you bird brain! Ratigan!!
Ratigan: SAY IIIIITT!!
Basil: *sighs* Alright then...I kinda, sorta maybe, you know..
Ratigan: *jumps up enthusiastically and smiles* You mean you like me!?
Basil: *smiles a bit* A little.
Ratigan: You mean it!? *ruffles his hair*
Basil: *rolls his eyes and shoves Ratigan's hand away, smirking* Don't push it.
Ratigan and Basil: *dances arm in arm* Looks like I got me aaaaaaa....FRIEEEEEEEND!! *claps hands like brothers would, smiling and laughing*

Ok, so here I am at midnight in my bed, relaxing and watching this awesome fan video www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNB8O_… And suddenly, I was inspired to write a quick fic with Ratigan and Basil becoming friends from the song Pebble and the Penguin www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIYiuv…; With Ratigan being the drama queen that he is, I can SO see him singing Hubie's part of the song and annoying the crap out of Basil to become his buddy. 
And in the end, Basil, singing Rocko's part, will admit that he likes Ratigan too as a good friend. 
And honestly, I think they would be very funny and playful buddies if they weren't life long enemies! 
I will probably put some icons of Basil and Ratigan's faces by some of the lyrics here, but I will do that later, I think. In the meantime, I hope you like this light-hearted fic! Enjoy!
